The enrolment form is right here. Please read it carefully before filling itout, and check before sending to make sure you've included all information. You'll need to send the form via email to both Patrice and Tony Watts so Patrice can arrange groups, billets etc. and Tony can acquit the banking. If posting your form in the mail, send it to Patrice and she'll advise Tony. Please scroll down this page to read the refunds policy.
For those interested in Michael's Berlin School & Abel masterclass, the repertoire list is here.
For participants from Australia, please post a cheque or do a direct deposit to the AVdGS bank account (details will be on the form). YOU MUST INCLUDE YOUR SURNAME ON ALL INTERNET TRANSFERS. Otherwise we won't know who has deposited the money. If your bank says you can only include numbers, then use the phone no. that you gave AVdGS on joining.
Any participants coming from outside Australia, please email Tony Watts and he will advise you of your options.
Concessions: pensioners, carers and unemployed with Centrelink card, secondary and tertiary students only. Seniors Card is not accepted for concession rate. Proof of concession is required.
Please note that we will acknowledge receipt of form/payment via email. Proper receipts will be given at Easter. If you send your enrolment and do not get an email within the week, please contact us to make sure it has been received.
The Viola da Gamba Society of America has a good Self-rating guide which can be used to rank your experience and skills (unless you're a total viol beginner!). Please download this and fill it out. While we won't have as many categories as this form shows, it will help in putting you into suitable groups. If during the School a group turns out to be a bad fit, we can make some adjustments to keep everyone happy.
Our groups will consist of beginner, lower intermediate, intermediate and advanced. Closer to Easter, if you have questions about the music, please contact Michael O'Loghlin, the Musical Director on 07 3311 1442.
One of the membership benefits of AVdGS is to receive a member's rate at the Easter Viol School. We are aware that a number of other people have been invited to the School. We hope that you'll enjoy Easter so much that you'll join us anyway as viol players, whether you play other instruments or not. All new members will receive the quarterly AVdGS newsletter with lots of useful info and links, and advance notice of other workshops in which you might participate. There is a family rate which is not included on the enrolment form (lack of space). If you want to sign up as a family, please ask Patrice.
If you have food allergies, please let us know early. Teas and lunches will be provided, and dinners by arrangement on the day (extra fee). We will be serving basic, healthy food and will cater for vegetarians and gluten-free. If you have extreme food issues, you may need to make some arrangements for self-catering. We will assist as much as we can, but volunteers will be catering for a large group and will have some contraints.
We would be most grateful to any Brisbane players if they could indicate a willingness to billet a player from outside Brisbane. We will have several couples who may want beds. Some people will have their own transport and others won't. Basically you would be offering bed and breakfast only unless you make other arrangements with your billet.
Some people may prefer to stay in a hotel. Local possibilities include:
* St Lucia Gardens ($125 for 2 people, $115 for one, can take up to 5 per apartment) at 2 Galley Rd, St Lucia

* Minto, an old Queenslander ($50-100, depending on the type of room), at 61 Gladstone Rd, Highgate Hill

Also visit http://www.uq.edu.au/student-services/temporary-accommodation-st-lucia as they have useful suggestions and ideas.
For those without cars, there are buses and the Citycat ferry to take you to the campus. We should have sufficient parking available to accommodate all cars. We will put more specific info about bus routes etc. on here closer to Easter.
If you are driving to the School and will have room to give someone a ride, please indicate this to Patrice.
Enrolments received up to 28th February save you money!
We hope that everyone that enrols for Easter will be able to make it, but the unforeseen can happen. A full refund is available (minus a $20 admin fee) to the end of February. A 50% refund (and $20 fee) will apply up to 15th March 2013, after which no refunds will be available. Close to Easter, there will be a number of fixed costs which we will have to pay, so we can't afford to offer refunds after the 15th..
About a month before Easter, we will send out an email with essential info about music, stands, transport and other arrangements.
